Should I order a dawat package or individual trays?

Choose a package if you want one price per guest and the menu decided for you; choose trays if you want to pick every dish yourself.

  • Dawat packages are priced per person with a 10-guest minimum, and you order them by phone. Each one includes curry, rice or biryani, a vegetable, naan and dessert, so nothing is forgotten.
  • Trays come as a half tray (serves 8–10) or full tray (serves 18–20). You can order and pay for them online on the catering page — 50% now and 50% at pickup, or in full.

Which dawat package suits an Eid gathering?

Most Eid dawats want more than one curry and a proper biryani, which is why the Royal package at $27.99 a person is our most popular: two appetizers, two curries, two biryanis, one vegetable, naan and one dessert. For a smaller, simpler family meal, the Classic at $18.99 (one curry, one rice or biryani, one vegetable, naan and one dessert) or the Deluxe at $22.99 (two curries) works well. For the big extended-family dawat, the Shahi Dawat at $32.99 adds a third appetizer and curry, a second vegetable and two desserts.

Mutton curry or mutton biryani is +$2 a person, and any extra item is +$3 a person — worth it on Eid, when mutton is usually the point. If your family loves the grill, the BBQ Feast at $28.99 a person (25-guest minimum) brings two kebabs with chicken biryani, daal, naan, chutneys and dessert.

What Hyderabadi dishes can I serve at an Eid dawat?

If you are building your own menu from trays, these are the dishes that make it feel like a Hyderabadi celebration:

  • Mutton biryani ($100 half / $180 full) or chicken biryani ($75 / $120).
  • Baghara rice with mutton dalcha — the classic pairing.
  • Dum ka gosht, talawa gosht or marag for the mutton course.
  • Mirchi ka salan and baghare baingan on the side.

Which desserts should I order for Eid?

By the tray, we make Taj shahi kheer and Taj shahi tukda ($75 half / $140 full), gulab jamun and halwa ($85 / $150), plus apricot delight and fruit custard ($85 / $160). With a dawat package, every package includes a choice of Taj Shahi Kheer, Shahi Tukda, Gulab Jamun or Suji Halwa; Deluxe and above add Gajar Halwa, Beetroot Halwa and Rabdi. The Shahi Dawat includes two desserts.

Can I hold my Eid dawat in your hall?

Yes. Our banquet hall in Bolingbrook seats up to 100 guests, and smaller groups may get a reserved section of the restaurant instead. Hall hire includes tables, chairs, the room set to your floor plan, and in-house sound and projection; linens, china and service staff can be added. The kitchen is on site, so the food comes out hot. Book by phone at (630) 808-1832 or start on the booking page — you can book up to a year ahead, and popular Saturdays go early.

Hosting at home in Naperville, Plainfield or Bolingbrook instead? We deliver within 50 miles, and can send buffet service with attendants and chafing dishes. Give us at least a day's notice for more than 25 guests.
